Ferroplan’s History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over four decades, Ferroplan Oy has evolved into an international company, generating employment opportunities in Finland and offering specialized conveyor solutions worldwide. Founded in 1983 under the name of its owner, Pentti Patosalmi<\/strong>, the company initially operated as an industrial equipment designer. Starting in his garage, Patosalmi manufactured turntables and hot water tank heads, laying the groundwork for the company\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 1986, the company had relocated to the former Orimattila cultural hall and hired its first permanent employee. Two years later, in 1988, the company was rebranded as Ferroplan, transitioning to a limited partnership. While initially producing conveyor rollers and parts for paper machines, conveyors soon became the primary focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1991, Ferroplan moved to the Sampola industrial area in Orimattila, establishing its own 1,000 m\u00b2 facility with office space. In 1994, the company became a limited liability company and commenced a vigorous investment in product development. Recognized for its success, Ferroplan Oy was named the company of the year in Orimattila in 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2005, Ferroplan\u2019s sister company, SIA Ferroplan, was established in Jelgava, Latvia, expanding the company\u2019s operations into international markets. That same year, Ferroplan Oy\u2019s turnover exceeded five million euros for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2012, the company continued its successful growth trajectory, reaching a turnover of nine million euros.

In 2013, the biggest deal in our history was the delivery of a Ferroplan composting plant to Binh Duong province, near Saigon, in South Vietnam. When the plant started operating, recycling in Vietnam took a major leap forward. The Vietnam Waste Conveyors allowed waste to be turned into cash, as organic material could be composted, recycled to recover the material and sold on. Our composting plant was a real pioneer in the design of local infrastructure and became a very popular local attraction for visitors and tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 2013, Ferroplan employed approximately 50 staff members, and production facilities had expanded to a total of 4,200 square meters. In 2018, the design and construction of the FerroPower energy production facility began, opening new opportunities for the company, particularly in the environmental sector.

The generation change on 1 January 2016 ensured the continuity and development of the business to meet future needs. Minna Patosalmi, who took over as CEO, served in her position until 2022. In 2022, the facility obtained environmental permits, paving the way for market introduction.

In July 2022, Antti Rousku took over as CEO of the company, while Minna Patosalmi became Chairman of the Board. Until then, Ferroplan had been managed by the Patosalmis. In 2023, Ferroplan\u2019s turnover exceeded 15 million euros, highlighted by an approximately 8-million-euro conveyor delivery to Mets\u00e4 Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, in 2024, Ferroplan GmbH was established in Munich, Germany, reinforcing the company\u2019s position in international markets and supporting its vision for global expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
